In today's experiment I used a toy drone, a dji Tello with GameSir TD1 controller, to avoid the FAA restrictions that would apply to a larger more professional drone. We were within 5 miles of an airport where those restrictions would apply. The Tello can reach an altitude of approximately 98 feet.
The experiment was a success, and the rest of the session was much like every other plein air session, with everyone focusing primarily on their work. We were painting at the Snohomish Valley viewpoint, off of a dead end and DOT right of way on 92nd SE, a location that we've frequented many sessions before.
Attendees were Liz Talley, Kathy Carpenter, Kathy Paul and Karen Barkley.
